The Right Size Makes
All the Difference.

Too small and you're stuck with a full dumpster mid-project, waiting on a swap. Too big and you've paid for cubic yards you never touched. Getting it right from the start is the whole point of the sizing conversation we have before every delivery.

The Wreckin' Haul offers multiple roll-off dumpster sizes suited to everything from a single-room weekend cleanout to a large commercial construction site. When you call, we ask a few straightforward questions about the job and make a recommendation — one less thing to figure out yourself.

Small Roll-Off

Best for single-room and light projects

Ideal for homeowners with a contained scope — one bathroom, a garage partial clear, a few rooms of old furniture or a small flooring project. Fits in most standard driveways without issue.

  • Single bathroom or kitchen refresh
  • Partial garage or attic cleanout
  • One or two rooms of furniture

  • Full garage or whole-home cleanout
  • Kitchen or two-bathroom full renovation
  • Multi-room flooring tear-out
  • Estate and foreclosure clearings
  • Small-to-mid construction debris loads

Large Roll-Off

Best for job sites and large-scale clearing

Built for high-volume jobs — active construction sites, large demolition scopes, whole-home gut renovations and commercial property clearings. Handles heavy and mixed debris loads without filling up halfway through the job.

Fits well for
  • Active construction and demo sites
  • Full home gut renovation
  • Commercial property clearing
  • Large-scale roofing and framing debris
  • Multi-phase project dumpster service
Sizing Guide

How We Figure Out
the Right Size

When you call, we walk through a quick set of questions. Here's how we think about sizing so you know what to expect.

01

What Are You Clearing or Renovating?

The type of debris matters as much as the volume. Tile and concrete are dense and hit weight limits fast. Furniture and household items are light but bulky. We factor both into the recommendation.

02

How Many Rooms or How Large Is the Scope?

One bathroom is a small job. An entire house is a large one. Multi-room renovations and full estate clearings almost always need a mid-range or large container to avoid a mid-project swap.

03

When in Doubt, Size Up Slightly

It's almost always better to have a little extra room than to overfill a dumpster and deal with a swap. The cost difference between sizes is usually smaller than people expect — and the hassle of running out of space is real.

04

We Give You a Recommendation, Not Just a Menu

We don't just list sizes and let you guess. When you call (760) 280-9372 we ask what you're working on and tell you exactly what size we'd use for that job.

Know Before You Load

What Goes In. What Doesn't.

Roll-off dumpsters accept the vast majority of project debris. A few categories are prohibited by law — here's the quick version.

Generally Accepted
  • Furniture and mattresses
  • Household appliances
  • Drywall, lumber and framing
  • Flooring: carpet, tile, hardwood, laminate
  • Roofing material and gutters
  • Concrete and masonry (volume limits apply)
  • Scrap metal and general junk
  • Yard waste and green debris
Not Accepted
  • Hazardous chemicals and solvents
  • Paint — oil-based or latex
  • Asbestos-containing materials
  • Motor oil, fuel and gasoline
  • Batteries and propane tanks
  • Medical or biological waste

Unsure about something specific? Call (760) 280-9372 before loading — especially on older properties where asbestos or lead paint may be present in renovation debris.

FAQ

Roll-Off Dumpster
Questions

What people ask most when choosing a dumpster size in North County San Diego.

What size dumpster do I need for a garage cleanout?
For a single-car garage with moderate accumulation, a small roll-off usually works. A two or three-car garage packed with years of items will typically need a mid-range container. Call us and describe what's in there — we'll tell you exactly which one we'd use.
What size dumpster do I need for a kitchen or bathroom renovation?
A single bathroom usually fits in a small roll-off — tile is heavy but the volume is contained. A full kitchen gut with cabinets, countertops, flooring and appliances coming out almost always needs a mid-range. If you're doing both at once, go mid-range or call us to confirm.
Can I put concrete in a roll-off dumpster?
Yes, but concrete is very dense and hits weight limits much faster than lighter materials. Small amounts mixed in with other debris are fine. Large concrete-only loads — like a full driveway or multiple slab sections — should be discussed at booking so we can factor the weight into sizing and pricing.
What happens if I fill the dumpster before my project is done?
Call us. We can do a same-day swap — pick up the full one and drop a fresh container — or assess whether a junk haul for the remaining volume is the faster option. We'd rather sort it out quickly than have your project sitting around a full dumpster.
How full can I fill the dumpster?
Fill it to the rim of the container but not above it — nothing can be sticking out over the top edges for transport. If you're close to full and not quite done, call us and we'll talk through options before overfilling creates a safety issue or extra charge.
How do I know if the dumpster will fit in my driveway?
Most standard driveways can accommodate a small or mid-range roll-off without issue. For tight driveways, low overhead clearance or soft surfaces, let us know when you book and we'll plan the placement. In some cases street placement may be an option — permit requirements vary by city, we can advise.
